The Original Original
A hotel and a confectioner settled who owns 'Original'. An hour later we launched the Original Slop-Torte.

What happened
The committee unveiled the Original Slop-Torte: a chocolate cake of uncertain layers, with jam on the top, the bottom, and in one guest's hat. Oskar Kokoschka painted it and refused to say which cake was the original. A strongly worded letter arrived the next morning. Letters have come every November since, on nicer paper each year.
